Video lecture series Why Insects Matter: Earth’s Most Essential Species taught by Scott Solomon, Associate Teaching Professor at Rice University, introduces everyday insects encountered at home and the important contributions they make to both natural and home ecosystems, the biology and evolutionary history of insects, the roles they have played throughout human history, and the diverse impact of insects on the natural and human world, including how they inspire human creativity.
