Learn How California Protects Tenants

The Ukiah Branch Library invites the community to a free Renters’ Rights Workshop on Friday, July 25 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. This educational event is designed to inform tenants living in California about their legal protections and rights, specifically related to the Tenant Protection Act of 2019.
Hosted by Legal Services of Northern California, this workshop will cover an overview of renters’ protections under the Tenant Protection Act, including understanding the eviction process and proper landlord notice requirements; just-cause eviction protections for tenants and when a landlord must provide a relocation payment and tenant protections when a landlord wants to increase the rent. This workshop will also cover tenant resources and where to seek assistance if needed.

Aprenda Cómo California Protege a los Inquilinos

La Biblioteca Sucursal de Ukiah invita a la comunidad a un Taller gratuito sobre los Derechos de los Inquilinos en el viernes, 25 de julio de 2025, de 4:30-5:30 p.m. Este evento educativo está diseñado para informar a los inquilinos que viven en California sobre sus protecciones legales y derechos, específicamente relacionados con la Ley de Protección de Inquilinos de 2019.
Organizado por Servicios Legales del Norte de California, este taller ofrecerá una descripción general de las protecciones de los inquilinos bajo la Ley de Protección de Inquilinos, incluyendo: comprensión del proceso de desalojo y los requisitos adecuados de notificación al arrendador; protecciones para inquilinos ante desalojos con causa justificada y cuándo un arrendador debe proporcionar un pago por reubicación y protecciones para inquilinos cuando un arrendador desea aumentar el alquiler. También se cubrirán los recursos para inquilinos y dónde buscar ayuda si la necesita.
