Leadership Academy
Formerly known as the Supervisor/Management Academy, the Leadership Academy is an 8-course certification pathway designed to build practical leadership skills, strengthen workplace culture, and support leaders at all levels.
The Academy is coordinated by Human Resources and includes courses focused on communication, emotional intelligence, performance management, trust-building, facilitation, time management, change management, and the County’s High Performing Organization philosophy.
Participation is mandatory for employees in current supervisory or management positions and must be completed within a two-year period. Courses are approved for County time and are open to employees in SEIU, DSA, MCPEA, MCACE, MCLEMA, and Management bargaining units.
Although not mandatory, the Academy is also open to emerging leaders who are not currently in a supervisory or management role. Emerging leaders who complete all required courses are eligible for Leadership Academy certification.
